Drs. Lynn and Sharon Fogleman, who are both family physicians, joined the General Board of Global Ministries in 1986 and served in Maua, Kenya from 1987 to 1997, where they worked at Maua Methodist Hospital and outpatient clinics. Lynn and Sharon were led to the Red Bird Mission and Clinic in Beverly, Kentucky in 1997, where they have served that community in outpatient medicine for 12 years. They share one doctor's position and have filled up their “extra time” with home visits to patients, health education in the Red Bird School, church and Boy Scout activities, and organizing and serving on the Red Bird Valley Community Board. The health needs in this community are great and no recreational facilities are closer than 45 minutes drive. Additionally, Lynn and Sharon have raised a family during their service in Kenya and Kentucky: Kurt is 22 and graduated from Simpson College in May as a PE/recreation major with a minor in religion; Mark is 20 and beginning his second year at the University of Kentucky in civil engineering, and Joella is 18 and is a senior at Red Bird High School.
