CHRISTIAN SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP SUNDAY

We will celebrate our Christian Service Scholarship Fund on May 26th.

The scholarship fund was started in 2002 with the leadership of Bill Bradford. It began as a seed planted by Coy Clayton to assist Lane Glaze with divinity school expenses. Lane left his job to answer his call to ministry. Coy’s plan was to ask 50 people to give $10 a month to support Lane. From this we got the idea of the Halo Club. The Halo Club is an invitation to give $10 a month or $120 a year. Any amount of support is welcome. Front Street has provided more than $139,000 of support for candidates seeking advanced degrees for fulltime Christian Service.

WilderAudrey Wilder a former recipient of the scholarship will deliver the message. Audrey Wilder is a full time "resident disciple maker," working with her husband, Jack, to raise their 5 and 2 year old sons, while also preparing for a new family member expected to arrive in October. Her newest calling from God is to focus on helping others discover and live into their identities in Christ. Along with walking with her family on their faith journey, Audrey walks with teenagers around the country as a regular writer of youth curriculum for the United Methodist Publishing House.

Audrey graduated from Duke Divinity School in 2008 with a Masters in Divinity and a certificate in Christian Education. When she magically finds herself with free time, she likes to watch shows featuring a “strong female lead” and read.
