Advent Art

Artwork for our Advent Devotional Booklet

Is your child a budding artist? We’re seeking an image for the front cover of this year’s Advent Devotion, and would love to use a picture created by a member of the Front Street family. It’s easy to participate:

1)   Create your advent* picture using any media you like (crayons, markers, paint etc.)
2)   Take a photo of or scan your picture and email it to joanna@frontstreetumc.org.
3)   Keep your picture safe. If your picture is chosen we may need the original copy.
4)   Submit your art by October 30, 2020.

Questions? Contact Joanna Strelow in the church office.

* Your picture should symbolize Advent, not Christmas.  So no Christmas trees, Santa, elves or reindeers please. Possible ideas for an Advent picture include:
  • Advent wreath
  • The great light that the people see in Isaiah 9
  • Imagery from the prophets in the Old Testament about the coming of Jesus (eg Isaiah 11:6-9)
  • Zachariah and Elizabeth
  • Mary & Joseph
  • Manager
  • Jesus in glory (2nd coming)

Still need ideas? Take a look at the scriptures for this year’s Advent Devotions.
