Stronger Together 2023

STRONGER TOGETHER

2023 Front Street UMC Stewardship Campaign

Every Sunday morning, with our heads bowed and eyes closed, we reverently recite the Lord’s Prayer in unison. And the very first words we speak, “Our Father,” uniquely bind us together. Our Father.

It's no coincidence that what we cherish most about church life at Front Street are the very things that bring us together—Sunday School classes, choirs, Men’s Breakfast Bible Study, UMW, Sunday night Youth group, the Fellowship table after church, and the list goes on. Every aspect of Front Street is stronger when we are, in fact, together.

Our worship is stronger when we sing hymns together, when lay readers lead us in the Prayer for Illumination, when we collectively welcome a baby in baptism or participate in communion.

Our impact is stronger when we work shoulder to shoulder at Lake Cammack, directing athletes and orchestrating the myriad complexities hosting the Mission Man Triathlon. Our community and our ministry are stronger every time we build wheelchair ramps, fill backpacks for Eastlawn Elementary, knit shawls for the Prayer Shawl ministry, walk in the CROP Walk or donate blood.

Our connection to each other is stronger when we work together on committees, regularly participate in Sunday School, worship services, Bible studies or share a table at covered dish lunches.

And, of course, our budget is stronger when we each contribute financially to Front Street.

It is easy to forget that we, the church family, pay the utility bills, building maintenance, insurance and staff salaries. There is no income-producing side hustle. It’s us, pledging our resources so that next week and the week after and the week after that we continue to have a place to gather together, to ground us.

The Estimate of Giving card included in this letter is an opportunity for you to let the church know your giving plans for 2023 so that the church can, in turn, plan and budget accordingly.

We are able to treasure our community of faith and fellowship at Front Street because the generations before us were faithful stewards. We gratefully stand on their shoulders and acknowledge our role in keeping Front Street strong and vital for the generations to follow.
