INFANTS AND TODDLERS learn that the church is a place where people care. Child care is provided every Sunday during Church School and during all Worship Services. Child care is also provided for all churchwide programs and dinners so that young families can participate fully in our church program.
PRESCHOOL CLASSES are available on Sunday morning for children ages 2 through 4. The children are involved in many discovery experiences to help them explore: WHO AM I? WHO ARE YOU? WHO IS GOD? An additional session is provided for preschool age children during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service.
ELEMENTARY CLASSES encourage children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade to grow in their understanding of themselves in relationship to God, to others and to the world in which they live.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH provides the first introduction to our worship service for children ages four through First Grade. They participate with their parents in the first portion of the morning service. After a children's sermon, prepared just for them, they leave with their leaders for Children's Church, where they learn more about Jesus, prayer, the Bible, our worship experience, and how these relate to their lives and their world. Children may also enjoy crafts, singing or drama related to their lesson and worship theme.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR AND MUSIC PROGRAM
Many opportunities are available for children to learn about music and enjoy musical activities. Please see Children's Choirs on the MUSIC PROGRAM PAGE for details.
NEW BABY RECOGNITION
Front Street Church expresses joy over the birth of a baby by placing a rose on the altar as recognition that our fellowship has widened by a new special person. Visits and other contacts by our volunteer staff communicate our desire to be caring and supportive in our relationship to the new baby and to the family.
BABIES MORNING OUT is an outreach ministry of the church designed to meet the needs of mothers and young children from birth through two years. The program offers a secure environment for socialization experiences with others through play. Registration is required for participation. The program operates through the school year (September through May). For registration information call (336) 227-6263.
BAPTISM is both the sign and means of God's grace. It is God's claim on the life of a person through the Church of Jesus Christ. As a part of our heritage, infants and young children receive the sacrament as part of the morning worship experience. Parents and the congregation make promises to God to rear the child in the context and learning of the faith. Parents may contact the church office to arrange a time to meet with one of the ministers.
