Refugee Resettlement Apartment

Refugee Resettlement Apartment Set Up

Front Street UMC mission team is excited to announce that during the month of May we are gathering and accepting donations to set up one or two apartments for refugee families who will be resettled in the Burlington area through Church World Services. CWS is an organization that welcomes refugees, immigrants, and asylum-seekers from around the globe into lives of freedom, hope, and opportunity through direct services, advocacy, leadership development, and relationship-building in our community.

Storage bins, along with an information table, are set up in the Welcome Center (under the bulletin boards) to begin accepting donations and answer questions.

Items needed are: sheets (size tbd), blankets, cleaning supplies, bath towels, hand towels and washclothes, one trash can, shower curtains and rings (4), personal hygiene items, alarm clock, medications, vacuum, microwave, TV, rugs, ESL books, toys, tools, and Walmart/Food Lion gift cards.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make the check payable to Front Street UMC with "Missions/Refugee Resettlement" in the memo-line.
