New Opportunities to Serve C4C

New Opportunities to Serve
in our C4C Ministry
Congregations for Children (C4C) is an initiative that was started at the North Carolina United Methodist Annual Conference in 2013. The focus of C4C is to reflect the love of Christ to our neighbors, by helping children in public schools who live in poverty. Front Street has been partnering with Eastlawn Elementary school for several years. The free and reduced lunch rate at Eastlawn is a staggering 100%, so this ministry is so important.
One of the ways that Front Street ministers to the families at Eastlawn is by providing food for 75 of their families each week through a backpack food program run by Out of the Garden in Greensboro. This is where YOU come in. We need volunteers each week to drive to Out of the Garden, pick up the bags of food, and bring them back to the church. Each bag weighs between 6-8 pounds and the bags will fit in the trunk and the back seat of most mid-sized cars. If you are able to help with picking up the food, please sign up here.
Providing food for children that are food insecure is only one way that Front Street ministers to Eastlawn. We also provide treats for the teachers each month. And we are in the process of beginning a mentoring program with Eastlawn and a tutoring/reading partner program with them that will start once Covid regulations have been relaxed. If you are interested in being involved in any of these ways, please contact me at and we will talk!
This ministry is so impactful, and I appreciate all that have been involved and all who will be involved going forward.
Grace and Peace,
-Ms. Melissa
